AMT Physiotherapy is dedicated to providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all patients, visitors, and staff. The clinic owner takes full responsibility for safety compliance.

  • Regular risk assessments are conducted across all clinic and studio spaces.

  • All clinical and exercise equipment is routinely checked and maintained.

  • Walkways and treatment areas are kept clear of obstructions at all times.

  • Fire exits are clearly marked and kept completely accessible.

  • All accidents or near-misses are recorded immediately in an official incident log.

2. Infection Control Policy

To minimise the risk of infection transmission and maintain high clinical standards, the following hygiene procedures are strictly enforced:

  • Thorough hand hygiene is practiced by the clinician immediately before and after treating each patient.

  • Treatment couches, surfaces, and rehabilitation equipment are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between every patient.

  • Disposable paper rolls are utilized on treatment couches and changed after every consultation.

  • Patients are kindly advised and requested not to attend the clinic if they are feeling unwell or displaying symptoms of a contagious illness.

3. Safeguarding Policy

AMT Physiotherapy acknowledges its duty of care to protect vulnerable adults and children. We are committed to acting promptly, professionally, and decisively on any safeguarding concerns.

  • We maintain high vigilance in recognising potential signs of abuse or neglect.

  • Any concerns will be recorded clearly, accurately, and objectively.

  • Information will be reported to the local safeguarding authority if necessary.

  • Strict confidentiality will be maintained at all times, unless there is an immediate, identifiable risk of harm to the individual or others.

4. Chaperone Policy

Your comfort, dignity, and peace of mind are paramount during your time at AMT Physiotherapy.

  • Patients have the right to request a chaperone to accompany them during any assessment or treatment.

  • A chaperone will be actively offered prior to any sensitive examinations.

  • The acceptance or refusal of a chaperone will be clearly documented within the patient's clinical notes.

  • Important Notice: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult at all times during their appointment.

5. Complaints Policy

We aim to provide an exceptional standard of professional care. However, if you have a concern or complaint regarding your experience, we promise to handle it promptly, fairly, and professionally.

  • Complaints should be made directly to the clinic, either verbally or in writing.

  • We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days of receipt.

  • A full, detailed response following an internal review will be provided within 14 days.

  • If the matter remains unresolved, patients are provided with the necessary details to escalate their concern to the relevant professional registry or governing body.

6. Emergency & First Aid Policy

In the event of a medical emergency or sudden accident on the premises, the following strict protocol is initiated:

  1. Assess: Instantly evaluate the situation to ensure the immediate safety of everyone present.

  2. Administer: Provide immediate, trained first aid care as appropriate.

  3. Escalate: Call emergency services without delay if the situation requires urgent hospital care.

  4. Document: All incidents, treatments administered, and outcomes are fully documented in the clinic and studio Accident Book.
